Sunday mornings are my favorite. It usually starts with the sound of a crying baby ready to start his day. The house is quiet and every one sleeps while we both make our way to the living room; him with a fresh bottle of milk and me with a new Netflix documentary. Last Sunday was no exception. Still half asleep I pressed play and The True Cost started playing.
This documentary, which emphasizes on the true cost of the clothes we wear and those that are actually affected, is an eye opener to say the least. I’m a believer that we don’t have to sacrifice style while caring for how our clothes are produced and how their fabrics are made.
We at The Crunchy Nest care. We care because the health and future of our children is important to us. Because the effects go far beyond how some items of clothing are sewn and the conditions of those hard workers; the effects now reach our own health, the health of the farmer growing our cotton, and the health of our soil, whether here or abroad.
This film has inspired us to feature in the next coming weeks various vendors that offer organic, cruelty free, and eco-concious beautiful items that can proudly adorn your precious newborn while you vote with your dollar.
